Direct Competition

When you see the marketing in the world around you, is your view? Most companies will see their direct competition. They will see who has the best chance of their business well, and this is all they see.

I can understand why, and there are many common sense approach such as this. This is the people that you should consider when framing your marketing message because this is the people who will challenge you to direct your customers.

But this does not mean anything by those who only need to take time to observe, because in truth you have more competition from sources far more than just the people in your industry.

When I sort through my mail and see the people who come in a postcard, not every one of them is the same industry. I may have some postcards from the bookstore I agree about the good deal and one from the hardware store to approximately one future sales, not to mention may be one of the clothing store to see what I should have them in stock.
